For decades, we’ve offered customers access to LifeMap ancillary products and services, which have a well-earned reputation for providing exceptional customer satisfaction to Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plan members. When Regence partnered with USAble Life, a national leader in the ancillary products industry, our goal was to further enhance the health and financial well-being of our members and better serve our customers.

Now, as we take the next step in our partnership with USAble Life to strengthen our dental and ancillary market competitiveness, we’re only providing quotes on Regence and USAble Life products. Quotes for LifeMap Dental, Vision, Supplemental, Life, and Disability products will no longer be provided.

Here’s how this change affects both new sales and renewals of existing LifeMap business.

New sales:

• Group dental and vision products are available solely under the Regence brand in Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and select counties in Washington.
• LifeMap Individual Dental products will no longer be available for purchase for effective dates of Oct. 1, 2023 and beyond.
• As announced in May, all Life and Disability products are available solely under the USAble Life brand in Idaho, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

LifeMap group renewals:

• Beginning with Jan. 1, 2024, effective dates, groups with LifeMap Dental, and those with combined LifeMap Life, Disability and Dental coverage, will have the option to move to Regence Dental and/or USAble Life Supplemental, Life and Disability plans during their renewal period.
• Additionally, groups with LifeMap Vision and Regence medical coverage may have the option to obtain Regence vision coverage during their renewal period:
  • Groups that have LifeMap Vision (but not Regence medical coverage) and 10 or more enrolled lives will be referred directly to vision services offered by VSP.
  • Groups that have LifeMap Vision (but not Regence medical coverage) and fewer than 10 enrolled lives will be provided information about VSP Individual plan options for employees.
• Groups with only LifeMap Life and Disability will continue to transition to USAble Life during their renewal period, as they’ve been doing since July 2022.

With all these changes, delivering exceptional customer service will remain a priority. Life and Disability customers will receive sales and service support from the same dedicated USAble Life Northwest team they know and trust. The team remains committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of their customers while ensuring their needs are met and their expectations exceeded.

Last month, we announced an exciting enhancement to our competitive 2023 ancillary producer bonus program: Appointed producers will receive credit for new USAble Life Life and Disability (L&D) sales; Regence-branded dental cases; and LifeMap L&D and Dental business.

This enhanced program is offered in addition to our 2024 sales incentive, which rewards top producers with the highest new annualized premium sold between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2023.
