Hinge Health embedded in most fully insured plans beginning Jan. 1, 2025

August 27, 2024

According to the World Health Organization, musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions are the highest contributor to the need for physical rehabilitation. MSK conditions can affect the joints, bones and muscles, with the most common being lower back pain.

To address the need for an MSK solution that meets members where they are, we began offering Hinge Health as a buy-up for ASO groups in 2022. Beginning with January 2025 renewal dates, Hinge Health will be embedded in most fully insured plans.

For everything from chronic pain to bladder control issues, Hinge Health offers advanced technology to manage symptoms and remove barriers to recovery. At the core of the Hinge Health solution is the industry’s largest team of licensed physical therapists. But because most MSK conditions require care beyond physical therapy, a personalized care team helps address each patient’s unique physical and behavioral health needs.

Patients engage with their Hinge Health exercise therapy program using a combination of advanced wearable and motion-sensing technologies, guided by an all-in-one mobile app. A complete care team of licensed doctors, orthopedic surgeons and board-certified health coaches creates a custom experience that delivers personalized end-to-end care for each patient.

Hinge Health will be embedded in all Individual and fully insured small (1-50, 2-50 in Idaho), midsize (51-100) and large (101+) plans, except Transitional plans, BolsterCare, CareVia and nonmarketed plans.
