Regence administers medical, dental and prescription benefits for self-funded group plans, in addition to fully-insured individual and group plans. Self-funded groups establish their own benefits and Regence is the third-party administrator that provides administrative services for their benefit plans. Due to this, self-funded groups customize their plans and may not be subject to Regence administrative guidelines.

The Federal Office of Personnel Management (OPM) contracts with health plans throughout the United States providing medical and dental coverage for federal employees and their families. Claims are processed according to the benefits, rules, guidelines and regulations of the federal government, which supersede state laws.

Regence Group Administrators (RGA) and Regence Group Administrators of Idaho, Inc. (RGA-ID), coming January 1, 2025, are wholly owned subsidiaries of Regence that provide third-party administrative services to self-funded employer groups primarily in Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Uniform Medical Plan (UMP) is a preferred provider health plan managed by the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) through the Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB) and the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). The plans serve state and public employees, retirees and their dependents.
